Senator Angela Alsobrooks and Governor Wes Moore Endorse Adrian Boafo for Congress

May 8, 2026

“This moment calls for leaders like Adrian Boafo," said Senator Angela Alsobrooks. “I’ve watched him fight for working families throughout his career to make our communities more affordable and create opportunities for all to succeed. Adrian has stood up to Donald Trump’s relentless attacks on our families and neighbors, and I know he’ll be exactly the fighter we need in Washington.”

“Adrian Boafo is a fighter for working people. As Delegate, he’s fought to raise the minimum wage, make schools cell-phone free, and stop Wall Street from buying up homes and pricing hard-working Marylanders out. When families felt the burden from rising energy bills he was the first legislator to call for a moratorium on utility rate hikes,” said Governor Wes Moore. “I need a partner in Washington who’s proven they can deliver for Marylanders. I’m excited to endorse him and help usher in a new generation of leadership in Congress.”

“I’m grateful to have Senator Alsobrooks and Governor Moore’s support,” said Del. Adrian Boafo. “Senator Alsobrooks and Governor Moore are truly Maryland Strong, fighting in Washington and Annapolis to promote opportunity and take on Donald Trump's dangerous agenda. I’m grateful for their confidence and look forward to partnering with them to move Maryland forward when the Fifth District sends me to Congress.”

Senator Alsobrooks and Governor Moore join Congressman Steny Hoyer, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth, the Maryland State Education Association, the Professional Firefighters of Maryland and nearly 30 local elected officials, labor unions and community groups making up Adrian’s diverse coalition of support.
